I had the following done for this years MOT. The front shocks were leaking and the inner track rod ends were advised last year, so I had these renewed these. The original underseal applied by the dealership had started peeling in some areas so I got them to blow in some areas with new so as to protect the underneath & stop any water workign its way behind the underseal. As you will see it has had a couple of minor repairs on the lower front inner wings in the past. Everything where else is original factory panels in factory paint, i.e. under the boot floor, the strut tops, wheel well, under rear seat area and channels/floorpans are all original and in good condition, as testament to the car’s easy life. Heater channels are solid/original, even the bottom closing plates are still solid/factory!!! Hence why heaters are so good in it! Really solid & sound beetle, having owned several 03s previously nice to have one that does not any need welding! I am very picky about my cars and the areas which are not perfect as can be seen in the original pics, are some of the edges of the wings have a little rust although when polished you cannot see it on the new pics and the lower edge of the front valance same again. Cosmetic rather than anything else, hence why i thought the original pics were best as they show all the bad points much better!!! But it is mint/solid in all the right areas, the car has been well looked after and not seen much use, the underside, i.e. chassis etc is still in factory black, no rust or welding done and does not need any, no thin areas even under the battery is solid & sound.
The car comes with a full & complete history inc old MOTs, the original handbook & VW service booklet as well as the original sales invoice from the VW dealership! Its done 66,229 original miles and its born out by its condition, never messed with totally standard and solid in all the right areas, the floorpan has never seen a welder and does not need anything, even the framehead is still mint in factory paint. Door pillar posts & heater channels are still the originals solid & sound, even the bottom closing panel for the heater channel is still original in factory paint, not rust even on the seams! Out of all the beetles i have owned i have never had one this solid & original that has hardly seen a welder. The pictures were taken before the car was cleaned, polished as it hadn’t been touched for over 6 mths, once all the dirt was cleaned off it looks even better now!
