Hey gang - I’ve met a good few of you at the Steading and Biggar over the last few months but realised I’ve not introduced myself here.
I’ve had a couple of bugs over the years and been a member on and off and I’m currently getting stuck into tearing apart a tangerine 1971 1200.
It’s unmodified and as far as I can tell all original but very rotten so all the usual work expected and probably quite a few unexpected problems too. I’ve not tackled anything this involved so I’ll no doubt be asking a ton of daft questions - thanks in advance
Welcome. Best of luck with the project, I’m sure it’ll be a giant pain in the backside, but a lot of fun too! Looking forward to seeing it out on the road sometime! Be sure to post some pics on this thread and keep us up to date with how the resto is going!!
Mark everything on loom with some form of label with where it goes/what it is etc. Saves time later
But as discussed last night leave it in place if you can until you decide to replace or not. If you do remove attach a draw wire of some sort when you remove.
