Camping in Lake District

We’re thinking of going camping next week to the Lake District, can anyone suggest any good campsite?
This’ll be our first family holiday, so not planning on going too far away from home, but next year who knows where Hardie will take us! :thumb:

Hi Hardie,

Last year we went down to Limefitt Park which is about a 10 minute drive from Windermere and located in a small village called Troutbeck. We stayed in the lodges but the campsite looked nice too. Couple of olde worlde pubs nearby (Mortal Man and the Queens Head)

http://www.limefitt.com/ if you want to have a look online at the facilities.

It was during this holiday that I nipped down (11 hour round trip!!) to Swansea to buy my Splitty.

Hope this helps and have a nice break! :thumb:

Passed through and stopped off at Castlerigg Hall, Keswick, couple of weeks ago on way to Coastline Bluegrass Festival in Llandudno. Great site and brilliant facilities. It would be wise to book up early for the Lake District as its busy all the time. :beers:
