Can you help?

People. I am in need of some assistance. My parents are coming over from Oz in about 4 weeks and I need to get one of my bay sorted and MOT’d for then. Problem is time is running short and I don’t have enough hands. So I was wondering if I could get some assistance. I was thinking of a few guys around to my garage. Beer, soft drink or whatever your poison on tap as well as some tucker. I was thinking of Sunday the 24th of September (three weekends from now).
The jobs that need doing are;

  • Wiring sorted out -(if I haven’t by then)
  • Heating pipes etc re-instated - should have everything by then.
  • Maybe a Propex heater fitted.
  • The MOT bits and pieces sorted.

I know it’s brash but it’s worth a shot. Could be a bit of a laugh as well. I live just outside Dunfermline.

i dont have anything planned that weekend so why not, count me in.

Cool thanks man. Anyone else - Seamonsta you workin that Sunday?

If i’m not on call i’m sure i could make tea etc!! count me in if all ok.

Just down the road from you in the Bay. Could probably make it. Will confirm Sunday.

Martyn you taking your camper? I may take the work van up as it saves me taking the toolboxes out etc.

good thinking lad!!!

Would love to help out but it’s my first wedding anniversary and somehow think it may just be pushing the envelope that bit too far.

If you need any help before or after with the propex let me know as I fitted one recently to my own.

Cheers,

Bob

Oh dear - you’ve kinda picked a bad day mate! :o
As well as a Lothians Club BBQ at Almondell Park near Livingston, VW Magazine.co.uk is also hosting an ‘All Scottish’ meeting in Stirling from 11am that day! (so said Dave when we chatted at Vanfest anyway)

But, knowing my luck, I will indeed be working…

BBQ ? did I miss something?

Come on Rob sort it oot or we’ll be round at 6am to get everything in!!!

The newsletter has just been printed and Alex will be posting imminently.

It has the new what’s on guide with details of the BBQ.

Bob

newsletter they still going ?? not seen one of those in a while

liar, you left last one at mine yesterday!!!

Can everyone do the Saturday instead if Sunday is a day of alternate VW fun.

Here’s the todo list

  1. Check and fix any lecky probs. Everything seems fine except maybe one indicator bulb
  2. Change over a headlight. I have one sealed beam and one normal and a brand spanker in a box.
  3. run a bit of wet and dry over the copper brake lines. Just so they don’t look corroded
  4. Check rear wheel bearings
  5. It’s had a service kit and a carb rebuild now I just need to smooth out the running.

And if your feeling adventurous I have a few non MOT related bits and bobs like

  1. Fitting the heater
  2. Fitting the pop top on the pop top (it’s a pop up sunroof on the pop top)
  3. Fitting the heating as it’s all missing bar the exchangers. Got the heater flaps and baffles just need the pipe and the other bits and bobs)

i’m sure we could do that, I’m on call but i’ll still pop over!

Martyn

yip sounds ok with me too

Fantastic Guys. I’ll get the boss to get some munchies in. What keeps your motors running? Coke, Pepsi(yuck) Irn Bru, mentholated spirits? We can do tea and coffee all day any day.

Should be able to make it on Saturday, where about are you?

Just PM’d those attending with the Address. Anyone else joining us?

come on guys you never know when you might need a hand !!
