Carb rebuild

I just rebuilt 1 and a half carbs and found a few interesting things.

  1. Petrol cleans carbs well but makes a mess of your hands.
  2. Rubber gloves are useless when working with petrol.
  3. Seat belt bolts don’t belong in a well set up carb. (I had one in place of a fuel shutoff solenoid)
  4. The brass screws that hold the butterfly valves in the spindle are very very soft and break very easily.
  5. Having a fountain of knowledge to hand is a god send (Thanks Eric)

I am now in need of the choke spindle from the right hand carb of a type 4 engine setup (PDSIT 32). If anyone has one and wants to part with it please let me know.
