clutch

hello everyone

just fitted new floor pan to 68 beetle
after refitting pedal assembly clutch seems very poor bites right at top have you got any good ways of adjusting it or is the clucth going
hardly any clutch their at all
please can someone help

First things first, If you have done the drivers side floorpan, you will have removed the pedals, the clutch and brake pedals (the rubber pads) should be vertical at rest. You may have to mess around with the stop plate to do this, and will probably have to drill a hole for it too. Make sure the pedals dont scrub the pan either when you press them. I’ve had to do this with mine. If that all checks out fine, then you can adjust the cable at the gear box. THere should be about half inch of play at the pedal before it starts to feel resistance.
