Golf sunroof seal

Does any one know how you fit a sunroof seal to a mrk 2 golf (88 golf gti with a steel sunroof)? Its the outer one you can see from outside the car,
looks like you have to remove the panel from the car, do i have to take the headlining out to do that?
i looked at the haynes manual and its typicly vague about it, says to half open it and remove some clips, i cant see any clips. is the manual wrong or am i missing something ?

I dont want to pull the roofcloth if i dont have to

Got it sorted!

i think the idea is to ignore the manual altogether !

the whole mechanisim comes out of the roof from the top once you remove the screws from the top and the winder handle and gear ,still a bit of a pain to do though.
and i think i might still have to adjust it a bit for it to work perfectly :smiley:
