Movie Night at Filmhouse (film: The Beetle) - Thursday 18th Dec.

Filmhouse recently alerted us to this new film about a Beetle, so we’re having a gathering if you’re interested…

We’ll start off with a cruise meeting at a convenient location about 1830, heading into Edinburgh for 1900 where, thanks to kaferkopf, we have a private car parking arrangement nearby the cinema for up to 30 cars!
After a few photos, we’ll head off for drinks and a bite to eat.
The showing starts at 2045 so we should be back at the Filmhouse by 2030. Depending on numbers, a group discount is available. We need at least ten people for starters.
Arriving in a Beetle would be a bonus - in keeping with the spirit of things an’ that! :thumb:

Spoke to Filmhouse today and it’s looking good for Thursday… dancinnanagif.gif

Group discount would normally be 10% for ten people, but I have secured this discount for the eight of us so far, plus two complimentary tickets!
Tickets are normally £6.30 per adult, but with group discount and complimentary ones it works out at £4.41 each.
I will pre-book as many as we’ll need on Wednesday evening as there’s no advance payment or deposit required.

As for a starting point, I’d propose Ocean Terminal for 1830 (cos I’m angling for a lift up after work… heehaw.gif ) but most Bug cruisers would probably prefer the usual starting point at PC World, Corstorphine and I could get the bus I guess?

Alex,
I wont be on the cruise but will be at the car park to meet any members, and get the barrier open. Do you know who will be heading the cruise? If they can let me know when they are about 5 mins away, I,ll get the barrier up.
My mobile is 07718581122.
Up Morrison St, keep in the left lane turn left at just before BSM office
Thanks
John

PC World, Corstorphine, Anyone?

sorry guys have to take a rain check working backshift
enjoy…

Hey,

Im 50-50 on this one, depends on my work load as im on call. Whats the final verdict on the cruise meet place?

Seamonster, I live in portie so may be able to offer a lift as its not far from me…

Andy

Okay…
John - I’ll call you Wednesday night about arrangements. Can’t make Blether at Hawes unfortunately.
PC World ideal for the West Lothian crew, so if you can marshall yourselves for an 1830 depart we should see you arrive at Morrison St. about 1850…?
Nominate Kev as cruise leader and will call you Thursday 1820’ish.
Gonzo - a lift would be sound mate! Prince of Wales Dock entrance (Ocean Drive - just past the Casino) for 1820…?
If you can’t make it, no probs.
Anyone else interested, call me on 07710 457250 wave.gif

(Sudden schedule changes at work are just part of the job!)

I’ll meet up with you cruisers at PC World and head to the Morrison St. Car Park where kaferkopf will meet us as planned.
Tickets are reserved for ten people.
Any further questions or folk who can / can’t make it - call me! :thumb:

Well, I quite enjoyed that as movies go! biggrin.gif

Perhaps a lack of any real drama, but humour and emotion held it together nicely.
At least no one can say us VW fans are ever as sad as the bunch of plane spotters in the short film that preceeded ‘The Beetle’…

Well I enjoyed it too, particularly when it got a tow from a camel!
