hi just fitted an msd ignition to my mates bug,everything was done by the book,the car start no bother as did before but stalls on tickover,tried enlarging the plug gap as suggested by manufacturer now set at 50-60 tho started mifiring and smokey.put everything back to as was before disconected the msd car runs ok.he phoned summitwhere he bought it they say the coil is maybe only putting out 6volts,anyone fitted one,or had bother with one,i think it is msd 6al i would need to check on this
I used a MSD5 on my bus for years. Easy install & worked well. Only reason I changed it was to fit a Pertronix as I was too lazy to adjust points occasionally.
