New late bay

With the paint on my early bay taking longer than hoped its became obvious we wouldn’t be camping this year , went to Durham last week for this 79 bus, hope to have her useable in next 2 weeks, she’s from states so nice and solid with mostly original paint

Sounds like a mornings work… heehaw.gif At least there’s nothing major though :thumb:

is that a rolls royce in the back ground?

Van is now registered in UK and taxed for 6months, however my early bay is about to come back to me from paint shop, will post a classified ad but if anyone fancies rust free 2 litre bus with sleeping for 4, she stands me about £6700 which is what I would like back, some fettling and finishing to be done but very nice lowered bus for not a lot of money, Blackened windows gone, interior tidied etc, full new window seals,

First real run in the bay last weekend, rough camping on East Coast close to good Surf and fishing spots, she is going really well, shocked at how much power is coming from the late 2 ltr engine, not so good are the rubber band front tyres offering no cushioning at all from potholes etc, Bugtastic has just finished the interior cabinets which look great, hopefully get those fitted before she is laid up for the winter, really needs an under dash shelf as well

Bombed up to Aviemore after work on Saturday, got a pedal round Rothiemurchs on Sunday while mrs Wyatt did the half marathon stayed at High Range site, nice wooded site, very handy for town but pricey at £26, had a nice late lunch at the skiing doo followed by a few bevvies, Monday morning weather was dismal but forecast better for West headed for Fort Bill stopping of to ride the routes at Laggan wolf Trax, shame the shop and cafe have gone trails are good though albeit pretty short, carried on to Glen Nevis campsite 2 miles out of Fort William , great site right below the Ben and only £16, decent restaurant with bar on site also, spent Tuesday walking, cycling eating and drinking, then back down road today stopped at “mohr bread” in Callander for lunch highly recommended, then a quick visit to the collectors toy shop and museum, managed to pick up some treasure! Highly recommended if you’re passing, then back home, bus was on the whole great, spent about 100 on fuel, noticeably much greedier when yiure pushing on, some smoke coming on to cab which I think is oil from rocker covers making its way through heat exchangers, heaters work great though, otherwise bit more finishing to interior and just keep using her, shocked at how quick the late 2 ltr motor is, the orange one was at the campsite in Glen Nevis didn’t get a chance to speak with owner it was very high and running a diesel motor, sweet!
