does anyone have a recomendation for a rack to go on to a t25 leisurdrive pop top, or how to fit bars to the pop top.
it is mainly for a couple of surf boards and therefore not too much weight.
any suggestions are appreciated.

HI Derm,
I have a roof rack for my Bay Camper that goes over the top of the pop top and bolts to the gutters. Removing my pop top so your welcome to to try it. PM for details.
Sean, thanks for the response and the suggestion.
the problem is the pop top runs the full length of the bus, and using roof bars that attached to the gutter would leave the pop to un usable.
i have seen a side mount for surf boards, i think it must have been a custom made item.
cheers

Depending on the strength of your pop top you could get get a set of roof rails off an estate car from a scrappy and bolt them on with a spreader plate, a small piece of 3-4mm alloy should do… Not having seen your top, you would have to see if the internal facing or whatever’s fitted could be removed then the rails bolted through and sealed with sealant (apply the sealant to the bolts as you pop them through.) Then you could either tie them down to the roof using the rails or fit roof bar beams across (thule/halfords set). New VW T5 campers have rails as an option for light loads on their lids. The only isue I would have is if the boards would cause the lid to lift. If the pop top is fastened down or heavy enought to resist it should be okay. You can get J bars to fit the side of your van but they look crap (the one’s I/ve seen on a T4 anyway.) and i doubt how safe they are. taking the boards off at night when you camp should’nt be a problem just slide them under the van.
sean thanks for the advice, i will haave a look at a spreader plate to distribute the load.
Cheers
