Newark 172litre cat.2 domestic hot water vented cylinder measures 400mm diameter and 1500mm high. 50mm foam insulation adds 100mm to the diameter though. Part L compliant and ClearSkies approved…
The important bit: There is a high surface area coil at the bottom of the cylinder for use with a solar thermal collector and two temperature sensor pockets for a contol unit. There are two additional coils above the solar coil to allow connection for a boiler and a wood/ multifuel stove. It doesn’t matter if one of these is not required. Effective volume with the lower of the boiler coils is approx 110 litres, I’ll have to check this though to confirm. It also has an immersion heater boss in the top.
The cylinder is new and unfitted, it was specified in error, I’ve now got one that fits… I can give some advice and details of sources for all the rest of the kit required to put together a solar water heating system if required.
I can probably deliver to Edinburgh etc, it’s still in the manufacturer’s packaging.
