T25 'Explorer' Camper for spares / repair

A neighbour in Limekilns, Fife approached me the other day with the sad news that she had this very rusty van to dispose of…
Familiar story? Yes, I’ve looked it over and it’s certainly rusty in the usual places, sills and lower side panels mainly, but for about £250 it could be yours to tow away, and is not totally beyond restoration I’d reckon, given that the main chassis rails are well solid. The interior’s quite respectable too. I might have the time on my hands to weld it myself these days, but another van comes first, and I don’t have the space or capital outlay for all the new panels. If anyone else is at all interested, just e-mail me for more pics…
Cheers, Alex

This lump of ferrous oxide will soon be going to a new owner!
Once he’s kitted out his '87 Caravelle shell with the interior from the Xplorer, most of the other salvageable parts he doesn’t require (glass, type 3 motor, etc.) will probably end up for sale at Biggar…

Yeah, good to see something came out of it. I am sure it will make a great camper.

The 1600cc Type 3 style ‘CT’ engine from this van is up for grabs.
Not heard running yet, but certainly complete and saveable.

Just to confirm the previous post about this van - it was sold and broken for bits about a month ago!
Yes, the owner only wanted £300 for the van, but to get it repaired and roadworthy would have cost an estimated £2000 in panels and welding alone. :o
