The latest doodles from the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen

Well here’s my latest messing about with Photochop, no the greatest of quality but I had a spare one kicking about n thought I’d give it a shot. Time to find somewhere that I can get one printed off or I may just print one on some photo paper n give it a whirl once I tidy it all up a bit & come up with a design for myself.

All criticism respectfully ignored

No way Man - love the ‘Cut Weld Drive’ one!
Though you could still amend anything above 80 to ‘Oh Sh*t…’

I was thinking more along the lines of - Not a Chance, Liar or Don’t be silly!

I’m not lying, there’s an all too real chance, but you’re right - it is being silly!

And a couple more…

Some great stuff there, Ally. D’you think they’d fit my kph Bus?

There’s certainly an easy way to find out Ni. I’m quite happy to throw together an idea or two for peeps if they want, I’ll be attacking a 90 mph speedo next so we can have either.

And here’s Speedo mk1. I haven’t glued it in yet, it’s held by the two screws & the pin where the needle rests. I’m off to fit it this afternoon I think but will be taking it back out to make a few changes, led bulbs, painting the needle & painting the inside of the case white to brighten it up a bit.

And the (almost) finished article installed in Spongebob - Good work Ally!

hehe, cheers dude, working on the 90mph one at the moment. Don’t go anywhere photo’s on the way. You could have yours sooner than you think

looks good Ally im liking the 2nd design,id be happy if you manage to get a chance to make one up for me mate or any design, not sure about the kph speeds im soon to be driving

No problem matey, you want/need a 90 or 100mph speedo face? Any particular colour combinations or designs you fancy?

I’ve actually fitted my 90mph Speedo back in the car since that photo was taken. Why???

Because I stripped it on Sat night, painted the inside of the case white (what a difference it makes) & designed a new face for it & it went back in Sunday morning. It’s that easy to do!!!

would need to be the 100 mph one

The designs look great, not sure how great plod would think of us VW bods opening up sealed speedo’s though… :rasp

Carry on…

Not sure its actually against the law on cars - just on HGV tachos. My bro’s a pc up in Grampian and he’s redone the speedo face on his baja (an attempt at home recalibration due to increased tyre size) - so it can’t be that much of a worry. His is even more obvious - it goes to 70mph, then the next intervals are “points” and “ban”… pretty simple reminder really!

I’m sure Seamonsta had one years ago that was just calibrated; “Town”, “Country”, expletive! - or something like that.
I’m sure he’ll let us know

I don’t think that changing the face of the dial is in any way illegal as I see gadgy kev shops selling replacement ones all the time - even Hellfrauds!

It’s important to keep abreast of gadgy kev culture, you know.

you mean the culture Ni

lol, no it’s not ilegal to change the face aslong as you know what you are doing, now running with a kph speedo, that’s a different matter all together!
