With regards to the law?

Would I get away with putting a design in my rear window, I know whe they cops pull the chavs for having their windows to dark they can only test the front windows, the rear window & the rear quarters can be as dark as you like.

I just don’t want to do something with the window to end up getting pulled all the time, though I reckon there’s one sure way to find out.

As far as I know there’s no legal obligation to even have a rear window. I was driving a van today without any.

I thought that was the case, I remember having an old clapped out work van many moons ago that had the rear window painted.

its a special model officer tells you its a super dooper beetle, not many made, yeah thats how it came from the factory, origionally it had flames on the bonnet, porsche seats and these fancy alloys and a turbo engine,im going to put it back to how it was
:rasp

 Nice one, I’ll need to remember that if I ever get into trouble

 i think as long as you dont have anything slating the police you should be fine :stuck_out_tongue:

You need two independant means of seeing rearwards.
In a car this is usually a rearview mirror and a wing mirror. In a van it is two wing mirrors.
If, for whatever reasson you can’t use your rearview mirror through the rear window, then two wing/door mirrors (one either side for you pedants) will comply with “contruction and use” and the MOT.
So - black out the rear window - put a mirror on the passenger door - and you’re OK. I’ll will back you up in court on this one.

 I have wing mirrors on both doors & a rear view mirror, I ask because I rather fancy putting some pinstriping on the rear window, definately not tinting my windows, nope no way
